I am ecstatic to announce that John Elisco and his team at Elisco Advertising have finished the Team Forever marketing video, which will allow those outside of the marathon swimming community to “see” what we go through to accomplish our dreams. This video will hopefully open the doors to opportunities which we can utilize to help find new ways to raise funding for the Forever Fund at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Check out the video here, and PLEASE re-post on your pages if you support the mission! The more people we get this out to, the more money we can raise!!
The team at Children’s (you know who you are!) were so gracious to give their time to help get these interviews with some very special people whom I work with on the Heart Center board, and I want to thank them all for their hard work!
My next speaking engagement will be at the “Run for Children’s” Marathon Team Event, which is being held at the Rangos Conference Center, adjacent to the Children’s Hospital. Having the opportunity to speak to all those who are rasing money for the hospital by running the Pittsburgh Marathon will be a real treat; don’t worry, I will get them ALL FIRED UP to complete their mission!
Our 2nd annual 5K Open Water Challenge information for August 11, 2012 will be coming shortly (the beautiful flyer is almost complete!) and I will keep everyone updated! We had such an amazing time last year and raised over $11,000 in the process – enough cannot be said about how hard the Heart Center team worked to pull this off. It is our goal to exceed this total, and increase the odds these children and their families face everyday!
“Team Perfect Coordinate” (aka Jamie, Ollie, Jen and Darren) as well as Michelle Nelson, Kim Plewa and documentarian Brian Hayes Patterson will be flying into Lisbon, Portugal and driving down the coast to Tarifa, Spain in a FEW WEEKS! During the first week of May, we will depart for Africa across the Strait of Gibraltar – words cannot describe how excited I am to travel with such talented friends!! PLEASE stay tuned into Facebook and my blog, as we will be providing interactive updates, including pictures and videos throughout the trip. As always, I will have my tracking beacon on during the swim so you can have live updates on our exact coordinate across the Strait! Technology is a beautiful thing…
If anyone has an opportunity for me to speak to your group, please let me know! It won’t cost you a dime, and your group will get to hear all about marathon swimming and the challenges I go through! Please reach out to me via darren-miller.com for more information!
Hope you all have an blessed Easter weekend!
“Every Breath A Gift”
