SWIMMER – Magazine Cover Shot

When SWIMMER Magazine contributing writer (and Triple Crown marathon swimmer)Elaine Howley told me that her editor was considering using a picture from the Molokai Channel swim for the front cover, it came as quite a shock. It is an honor to be on the cover of the March-April issue, and I sincerely thank everyone who was a part of this decision! Steve Haumschild’s pictures which he captured during the swim are priceless; a great in-depth look into the world of marathon swimming. Also in the picture is veteran kayaker, and renowned distance athlete Jeff Kozlovich; aside from Steve, Vince, Matt and Fred, Jeff is someone with whom I owe my life to as well.

You cannot swim the Molokai, or any channel for that matter, without the support of an awesome crew! This cover shot is for those who support, and will continue to support the Team Forever mission of helping the families and children at the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Without your spirit and encouragement, our journey would not be possible!

I also want to thank my sponsors, especially Trustmont Financial Group. Pete Dochinez and his family have paved the way for my Ocean’s Seven attempt, and words cannot describe how in debt I am to his generosity! I know many struggle to find the funding for their dreams of swimming exotic locations, and I do not take this blessing lightly. I also want to thank the Cartieri family for their English Channel sponsorship, EnergyCare USA for their website, and PR support, as well as John Bonaroti and his family at East Suburban Sports Medicine Center. Without the great support of my sponsors, I would not be able to travel the world to do what I love!

PLEASE consider being a sponsor for Team Forever, making a charitable donation via my website or contacting me for a public speaking event! My speaking topics are highlighted on my website. I do not ask for money for my speaking, but a donation of whatever your group can afford to help go toward the Team Forever mission!
