ALOHA!!!
My team and I are quite excited to be traveling to Hawaii on Saturday, October 15 for a tentative swim attempt of the Molokai Channel on Friday, October 21. We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott – Waikiki Beach on Oahu, until we get the call to travel to the island of Molokai – the island directly east of Oahu. Travel is restricted to airplane between the two islands, so we will be flying over hopefully Thursday to stay at the Hotel Molokai for an early 5AM start time on Friday. Mother Nature will have her say as always with any swim, so we ask for everyone to keep their fingers crossed that I will have a window of opportunity to pursue my 3rd leg of the Ocean’s Seven challenge! Accompaning me on the journey will be pilot Matt Buckman, professional navigator/kayaker Jeff Kozlovich, my father, my friend Vince and possible one or two other Hawaiians. As with the Catalina Channel in August, you will have the ability to follow my progress via the Spot device, which I will link up to Facebook, and this blog when it becomes available!
