The Tsugaru Channel in Japan was simply an incredible experience and I cannot believe we were again fortunate enough to have weather conducive to be able to complete the swim. 5 FOR 5 CHANNELS! A notoriously rough patch of water, the 20km channel turned into a 40km swim which in reality also doubled my swim time as well. The 15:55 swim by far the most challenging in my career, and it really taught me a lot about myself!

My apologies for not updating this blog while in Japan, as my computer would not convert the website from Japanese to English. Facebook was alive and well, and I encourage anyone who reads this blog to follow along at

Being the third American, and the first in 22 years to swim the Tsugaru – a great feeling to say the least!
CHEERS TO ADVENTURE!
